Not sure why PJ hasn't put the news up on her website. What an enigma!

Absolutely gorgeous, and moving. Both of them. Especially 'I'll Be Waiting', for me upon my first few listens is just beautiful and powerful.
I am fascinated by the evolving changes in her lyric writing and how she structures her words. Which she has spoken about in interviews....when she used to do them :'(
She never, ever, fails to impress. Solid and powerful. What an artist, my god.

Re: New track!!! A Dog Called Money
Dr, the words you can't make out in 'A Dog ...' seem to me to go:
He smiles, the ???? runs our way,
the kids call out for him,
'Money! Money!'
The word I can't make out does sound like 'people', but it must refer to the dog, so it can't be. Any suggestions for two-syllable words relevant to dogs that begin with P?? or any other way of making sense of it?

only if you're in the country where the store is, or can pay with a card that has been issued in that country - stupid limitation !error wrote:You can buy lossless versions at stores like 7digital and Qobuz.
I'd do anything

Yes, "pitbull"! Thanks Mr. Badmouth.
So these should be correct now?
So these should be correct now?
The kids are rolling dice for change,
sitting on the backyard steps, calling Money’s name.
Old guy walking to the store,
chewing on a cocktail stick, stops to tell us what is what.
He says, “Everything is staged—that’s how it is.
People are just paid an’ bought, an’ I'm tired of it.
What are you gonna do to change it?
Everything is staged—that’s what’s goin’ on.”
The kids rolling dice again,
sun is beating down. I ask the old guy’s name.
He smiles, the pitbull runs our way,
the kids call out for him, “Money! Money!”
He says, “Everything is staged—that’s how it is.
People are just paid an’ bought, an’ I'm tired of it.
What are you gonna do to change it?
It’s all about money—that’s what’s goin’ on.”

Oh now I see, thanks for the lyrics. I kept hearing "People are just paid to work, and I'm tired of it", which didn't make much sense to me (those were the words that also what came up when I googled the lyrics) ...."paid and bought" clearly makes sense!

I don't know where to put this...

seems PJ has covered an old folk song for a new film

That note of stark seething extends to Harry Escott’s score, bookended by his and P.J. Harvey’s disconsolate, shiver-inducing interpretation of the English folk standard “An Acre of Land” — a literal but inarguably effective selection, and one that typifies the coolly updated traditionalism of Barnard’s new approach.
