Negative comments about Polly

Post by sau »

Well, I have read some classics, but this was a comment on twitter today. I think this might just be the person who commented on twitter that 'Let England Shake' was like a history lesson and about medieval times, a few days ago! Blimey! This is utterly hilarious. Not everyone likes the music, so they might think it is boring, admittedly; we don't all like the same music, but talentless and too political?!:

'And how is PJ Harvey even getting on, she's boring, talentless and way too political'

Arctic Monkeys fan. Well, could have been worse, I suppose...

Wiggins is so superbly unassuming, he looks like he's about to say 'Pop the gold medal in the post, I'm nipping out for some biscuits'

Sau -
well, since admittedly i'm not well-versed in droning hipster indie rock i decided to take a look at a few arctic monkeys vids on youtube for a refresher... well, judging by their 2007 single and most notably their 2011 performance on David Letterman, CLEARLY it must be you and i who are "off" in our musical tastes, because the sheer depth of meaning and soul i heard in the lyrics and melody of the chorus (of the latter arctic monkeys performance,) was astounding!
get this! -
"ooooh! yeah, yeah, yea-eah!"
remarkable, profound, breath-taking lyrics! don't you think??? :P
vs.
"what is the glorious fruit of our land?
its fruit is deformed children!"

i think arctic sofie must be illiterate... or a monkey herself... we best not make fun... :P ;)

wow... not surprising to read on wikipedia that he was a bit of a drunk in those days... a mean one apparently! not too crazy about their appropriation of schizophrenia to plug their band either....

^ He (Coxon) was just having a laugh, he took the comment back the next day. He has said some rather positive things about her in the past. He said her and her band were wonderful at Glastonbury.

If that's the best that the Arctic Monkeys fan can come up with, I can't do anything but shrug it off haha.

Generally I've found people that are negative towards her and generally idiotic in an actual way, or don't "get her". All the best things in life are an acquired taste. Polly is no exception.
