According to Mick Harvey's web site, they're recording in April 2010. Now we know (maybe) that they're using a church.

it says that "a church has been converted",
presumably from Christianity to Polly-theism.

  that was really good

try to imagine what the liturgical arrangement would be like for Polly-theism.

So what are you guys doing to survive this PJ drought? Do you still listen to her often? I've been playing Is This Desire? a LOT lately and also discovering some Bsides.
I hope this shit comes out this fall. Do you think that's likely?

I can't remember a day without Polly, honestly ^^" And still I don't have enough of material she recorded already - so I am rather patient about that :D

Mick's myspace is showing 6 gigs from April 9 - 23:
http://www.myspace.com/mickharvey

Seems unlikely that he'd be recording with Polly and doing these at the same time..

That fucker!
He may still record with her regardless. Didn't Polly say she likes to record bright and early? I mean, who would rather have a little live show than record with Polly Jesus Harvey?
It kinda sucks that we rarely get any info about her albums and always wait in vain. We should start looking up contacts in her record company, her producers, searching for their twitters/emails/myspaces and spamming the fuck out of them. :mean:

How is that true when it resulted in one of her finest, if not her finest, album? HMMM! Riddle me that, skittle.

Well, she was happy with it. I love it, personally, but after only hearing DRY and TBMYL, it was kind of a shock. I think it's definitely one of her best.

Radiohead has been expanding on their sound, almost parallel to what PJ has been doing. Less guitars, electronic sounds... it's not exactly the same, but it similar.

Also, I really hope her next tour visits my town, and I'm actually in town. I had to miss it last time.

It seems like I have a big PJ party every couple of years, lasting a few months of just constant PJH. I'm in one of those right now. Usually it coincides with new albums, but I didn't like WC, and AMAWWB didn't have much substance (IMO!), so it's been long overdue.

funny you mention Is This Desire, I have never had such a strong urge to listen to that album as I have the last couple weeks!! A Perfect Day Elise and My Beautiful Leah are my favorite songs right now. Also rediscovering No Girl So Sweet, which I always forget about, and JOY... a song whose appeal has eluded me for years(!)

Live versions of ITD tracks are awesome, particularly the slowed down versions of No Girl So Sweet that she played at the end of the tour. Like this one in Berlin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vDMl9Le_no

I remember reading somewhere that she said she didn't think she could get away with playing that version in the UK, that it was too hardcore and people would start calling out for Sheela Na Gig etc.

The live versions of Joy are ferocious. ITD is a profound piece of art.

"John has just finished recording the new PJ Harvey album"

From a June 2, 2010 John Parish blog post:
