Have you guys heard about this viral campaign? Back in December, a youtube user by the name of "iamamiwhoami" started uploading weird videos of a mud-smeared woman in the woods licking trees, accompanied by birthing imagery and animal use. Each video title consists of numbers and has tags such as "wood", "disciple" and "orifice". The music is synthy and has breathy female vocals; people like Christina Aguilera, Trent Reznor, Fever Ray, Gaga, Bjork, MGMT, Golden Filter, Goldfrapp and Poe were suspects. The user also reached out to MTV by sending a lock of hair and the following codex which noone seems to have cracked:



So, what do you guys think? Any suggestions on who or what it might be?

Don't know who it might be but I'm going to follow along to find out I guess.
Without the female vocal it does have a Reznor feel to it.
Way to many comments to backtrack and read but just out of interest how did the Christina Aguilera theory start? I'm not into her music and know very little about her but enough to know that this doesn't sound like her cup of tea (or is it )

Well, for her new album she has worked with people like Ladytron, Le Tigre, MIA, Goldfrapp, Santigold, Diplo, Sia and is going for a futuristic sound. She also said she's doing "softer" singing as opposed to her usual wailing. There were so many other clues like, some titles when deciphered spelled out ITS ME CH AG, one of the videos had strawberry cakes Christina was seen wearing a shirt with he same cake the day before the video came out, similar physical features, etc.

Then there's this theory of Mandragora officinarum which was one of the titles. When the root of the plant/tree is dug up it screams and kills all who hear it-which would explain why she makes out with it?

I've been following this and I have no clue but I really love it haha I love the music cause it's interesting. I just want to know who this'll result in! The videos are so interesting too. I'm totally eating it up... oh, media.

some of the titles have a big mess of numbers at the beginning or end and i haven’t figured that out (actually i haven’t tried) but maybe that helps you guys.

Yeah that coding must hold some truth. The new one just says "b".
It's not Goldfrapp 'cause their album leaked and it's nothing like the videos. Some people are now saying it's Jonna Lee, who looks exactly like the viral girl, but her music is very different.
I've watched the 7th one 5 times already

It's a new series, the other one had groups of 6 in them, 6 black dogs for example. At least that's what someone said.

I tend to think that it's either someone completely new, or someone that isn't as high profile as the people that are speculated about. I like the music, but I think part of the appeal is the mystery.

ONTD posted pic by pic comparisons and found a pic of the piano used in the viral video in one of her making ofs. They also found a pool pic in her tweets that looks exactly like the one in #3 and she had also tweeted last year something about spending time in mud for 2 days and uploading 3gb size videos to youtube.

well, actually i got into all this too when i read this topic. i agree it can be jonna lee (though she will have a good campaign if it's not her ). i listened to some of her "normal" music and it sounds quite good so i'll have to check her out. i'm really looking forward to solving the mystery.
oh, and i don't know why but i'm glad that it wasn't Christina :P

I listened to her music and she was alright, I read she's working on a new "different" album which would probably be where the viral music is from. That's the one I want to listen to!
