Post by emanedur »

I was going through the Media Index last night and end up grabbing I Hit The City + Come To Me.I can't say I ever listened to him before but that IHTC is amazing!Just one of those songs that you instantly love and play over and over, and you have to stop playing cos you don't want to end up gettting sick of it.I'm going have to check out some more of his stuff.

I only know Bubblegum album, which I got by eBay some years ago as part of my PJ collection. The complete album is great. I've been interested in knowing more about his music, let's try Field Songs.

I've just listened to 'Come to Me' for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten how lovely it was. I have the albums 'Bubblegum' and 'I'll Take Care of You'. Thanks Skinned, for Field Songs recommendation.

'Creeping Coastline of Lights' from the 'I'll Take Care of You' album is wonderful:

Wiggins is so superbly unassuming, he looks like he's about to say 'Pop the gold medal in the post, I'm nipping out for some biscuits'

Yep, Mark's work with QoTSA is great, plus the Screaming Trees are worth checking out aswell.

Been meaning to buy some of his solo stuff as well. So Bubblegum and Field Songs are recommended?

This is probably gonna sound thick but was Mark actually in QoTSA?I was doing some research and it mentioned he had left QoTSA.Never realised he was a member

Well I wouldn't say he was a member more of a collaborator. He done vocals on a few songs for Songs For The Deaf, Rated R and Lullabies, not so sure on Era Vulgaris. Plus he toured with them between R and Lullabies.

absolutely Bubblegum, which is so great, check out methamphetamine blues and head. They´re the best songs from the album I think.

I would also recommend the albums I`ll take care of you and Here comes that weird chill again :)

Bumping OLD thread here.

This is rarely heard, PJ sings with Lanegan on the track "Come to Me" from Lanegan's 2004 Bubblegum album:

Bubblegum is an amazing album. For me (being a big fan of QOTSA) Polly's collaboration on that and Desert Sessions 9&10 was a dream come true.

Lanegan's recent albums with Isobel Campbell are pretty good too, though not quite as great as Bubblegum. And Mark's collaboration with Greg Dulli (Afghan Wigs) as The Gutter Twins has it's moments allthough I really can't stand Dulli's singing...
