^ I've been trying to find that record for ages and have never had any luck! I was in two different record stores today and checked for it, but neither had it. I was hoping I'd have more luck here in Bristol as its more local now (I've seen his name in a couple guidebooks, along with PJ's, which is exciting). May need to break down and download the record soon.

An amazing collaboration by Warpaint, Mark Lanegan and Martina Topley-Bird. Mixed by Massive Attack. Hope there's more to come...

David Eugene Edwards, of whom I had not previously heard but recently recommended to me by a friend, is a top-notch music-making man, strangely underrated and unknown by the broader public (or so it seems). for anyone who still haven't heard him, I strongly recommend listening to "Woven Hand", the debut album with his eponymous group.

Mazgani - 'Distant Gardens'

Lovely song.

Produced by John Parish and Mick Harvey. Both appear in the video too.

another amazingly underrated and strangely long forgotten artist (who would deserve a much wider renown), Sixto Rodriguez. the story of his rediscovery (and why his music-making path was interrupted) told in a movie last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_W0lQofy5Y

these are my personal top-rostered faves from his albums (not in order of my preference but according to their sequence in the track lists):

old faves grow older still, and prove their worth by composing what seems like an instant hit:

I'm going to see them next in this venue:
