Re: Fake live date?
But it canceled at last.fm and there is no information about it at Kongresowa web site TT_TT
Re: Fake live date?
i think that somebody misspelled the year. there was a show in Kongresowa on 21 May, but in 2008. that's a shame though

Re: Fake live date?
could it be that somebody is trying to tickle us, to test our responses by posting a fake live date?
why it's been so long now since any news of a PJ show that our nerves are in risk of growing dull for lack of such excitement as only Polly's renewed touring could bring.

In fact I was ready to pack my things and fly to Poland
Re: Fake live date?
I wouldn't have to pack anything, maybe just skip my leaving exams xD Still, that's pretty depressing that it was just a false alarm xpSkinned wrote:In fact I was ready to pack my things and fly to Poland

As a new comer to Polly, I'd like to ask those who've been into PJ for the longhaul... what's the longest you've had to wait between tours, until she resurfaces again?
Seems like ages since that wonderful night at the Shepherds Bush Empire [look wistfully into the distance]

Re: Fake live date?
That's a good question. I'm guessing the longest time between official tours would be from:
2004-12-17, - STUDIO 287 - PARIS, FRANCE (end of UHH tour)
and
2007-07-07, - THE BRIDGEWATER HALL (MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL) - (start of White Chalk tour)
She said to the audience during the 2004-12-17 gig that that was the last time she would perform (or something similar) leading some to infer that she was done with performing. She probably did burn out during the UHH tour since she constructed the WC tour as a solo tour so that she wouldn't have to keep to the typically demanding schedule that's required when you have a band and full crew under contract.
You can view pretty much her entire performing history here:
http://www.baymoon.com/~thegarden/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As you can see there, she did perform quite a few one-off gigs in between 2004-12-17 and 2007-07-07. I'll bet the longest gap between any performances was between:
2005-04-23, - CAMBER SANDS HOLIDAY CENTRE (ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES)
and
2006-01-12, - THE ECHO (MORIS TEPPER W-PJ HARVEY) - LOS ANGELES, CA, U.S.A.
but there was this gap also:
1997-07-13, - SALZBURG FESTIVAL (JOHN PARISH, POLLY JEAN HARVEY & THE MARK BRUCE DANCE COMPANY) - SALZBURG, AUSTRIA
and
1998-05-12, - “LATER… WITH JOOLS HOLLAND” - LONDON, U.K.
So it looks like 9-10 months is about the max time she can go before she has to perform again.
That being the case, since she last performed on 2009-07-25, I predict she'll resurface sometime around May of this year (assuming things go well in the studio in April with the new album).

Re: Fake live date?
my gosh, That's a great analysis. Thanks Dr. Dark! Now I wait for May
Re: Fake live date?
I keep getting this dreadful feeling that future tours will be much the same as AWAMWB & WC, limited.
I hope that's not the case!

Re: Fake live date?
I've got vague hopes for Glastonbury, seeing as its supposed to be artist(e)s with history there for their 40th. I'd really like to see her curate an ATP with John Parish though, one can hope.

Re: Fake live date?
the difference is that this time the (supposedly) fake live date doesn't correspond to the actual date(s) of Polly's performance at the venue in question. Polly didn't play at the London Forum on 11th June, nor in 1993 nor in 1995.
is this difference significant somehow?
there are 11 last.fm members listed as attending this new (supposedly fake) show, and 11 members maybe attending. these could also be fakes, of course.
