Listening to this interview for the first time today, now I know why I do not so far like this record. During the interview, Polly says that the voice she's singing in is best described as "…disembodied from the action…", "…high…", and "…inhabits an almost characterless place within the scene…". I wish Polly had used her "…full voice…"; I'd love this record a lot more. I cannot at the moment appreciate Polly's "empty" (<-what I call it) voice.
Owen! Food! Don't you in-a-minute momma me! Get off your fat little ass or I'll break it for you! I want two soft-boiled eggs, white toast, and some of that grape jelly, God Damnit! And don't burn the toast! Move it, fat boy!
