He has a book out, 'It's Only A Movie'. He recounts the time when Werner Herzog was shot with an air rifle while being interviewed by Mark, for the BBC's Culture Show, in Los Angeles.

On youtube. Werner takes it all in his stride though. But he made films with Klaus Kinski, so if he can survive making films with Klaus being shot at is nothing!

if you like werner herzog its worth having a look at the 'herzog on herzog' book of an extended interview, it always both makes me laugh- for the sheer preposterousness of the things he has done but also inspiring because he has done these things be it drag a ship over a mountain or walk to paris- often without much money (relatively) . i bet he is a great raconteur

and yes definitely a vote for mark to take over film 2010
