10 years ago- The Hope Six demolition Project

As stated by PJ's official Facebook account, yesterday was the 10th anniversary since the release of THSDP. I have a bit of mixed feelings about this album, 'cause it is for sure my least favourite PJ Harvey album... it simply wasn't a worthy successor to LES both musically and lyrically. Yet i don't actively dislike it, since from time to time i do listen to the CD, and that era did bring some great b-sides (Guilty is a banger). The long-lasting tour that followed its release was great, but i have to admit that i still find the PJ Harvey band of the time too bloated; all the band members were/Are superb musicians (i particularly like the saxophone-playing!) but there were simply too many of them. Furthermore, that era introduced a theatre-like approach to the gigs on PJ's part which was still present in some ways on the IITOYD tour, and that i often don't find particularly entertaining. My ideal PJ harvey band is a smaller and rawer one (no matter the music genre/Style).
The album and tour, as you all know very well, had quite a heavy toll on PJ's musical career, which doesn't help its cause at all.
P.S. the fact that 2016 was 10 years ago is mind blowing, it feels like yesterday!
