Have you noticed that the main picture on the official website http://www.pjharvey.net changed a few days ago? What do you think this picture can be? Does it announce something new?

I surely hope it's meant as a teaser for news to be announced soon! One can only hope... It's probably a bit too soon for an album though, I think.

A little image of a sheep, possibly drawn by Polly herself? Perhaps The Forest is about to be published?

By the way, browsing the updated biography page (for the first time) I came across a piece of information I've never heard before:
"As an actor, Harvey appeared in the 1990 film, ‘Lost in the Stars’".
This needs further investigation.

And on a bitter note, it's disappointing how her extensive list of collaborations completely fails to mention Maria Mochnacz.

At a guess - given the time - this was a student piece done by a friend at Yeovil College. But why has she chosen to mention it for the first time now, after thirty years?

'Lost in the Stars' is one of Kurt Weill's September songs from 1997:

It's also the title of a musical which Weill scored in 1949, a year before his death:

Right. Well, considering that the September Songs movie is not mentioned anywhere else in her bio, my guess is this is just a mistake perhaps.

Actually, I believe it is mentioned in the bio, up above the mention of 'Lost in the Stars':
"Harvey has composed extensive soundtracks for film and television, in 1994, covering ‘The Ballad of the Soldier’s Wife’ for the documentary ‘September Songs: The Music of Kurt Weill’"

The documentary does indeed date from 1994 and was apparently never released for sale. The soundtrack was released in 1997. The video of Polly that we're all familiar was taken from the movie.

I looked at some of the older versions of her official web site's biography ("profile"):

but I don't see any mention of 'Lost In the Stars'. Using the slider at the top of the page you can go back to 1998.

Yes, September Songs was the name of that documentary/musical/concert. I had to look it up to remind myself of a few things.

Elvis Costello performed the song, Lost in the Stars.

It was released but I doubt very many vhs copies were produced, i.e., limited run, etc. Never made it to DVD I don't think, but not positive on that.

I was able to order a vhs copy for viewing from another library many years ago, loaned to my local library. I have a dvd-r copy stashed away somewhere.

I now recall one performance I thought to be particularly compelling. It was another female performance. I think it was the one by Mary Margaret O'Hara. Something about her demeanor, combined with her singing, really grabbed me at the time and I had no idea who she was.

I remember reading somewhere that John Parish was considered for joining Wall of Voodoo sometime after Ridgeway's departure in 1983.
