There is a rumour that Polly has written the music for Ivo van Hove's forthcoming London stage production of 'All About Eve' - but the page has been pulled from the Timeout website within a few hours of being posted.

I'm going to see this on 13/2 with my wife and a couple of friends. They're all primarily going for the actors.... I'm going primarily for the music!

In All About Eve you are working with musician PJ Harvey. Were you a fan of her work before this?
Of course! She got in touch a few years ago as she had seen a few productions of mine and she said it would be nice to work together. When I proposed this she said yes and when we started talking I felt she immediately connected with the characters. She is at a point in her life when she wants to go to another level, to the next step, and that is also what Margo – Gillian Anderson's character – is struggling with.

My goodness. That fits in with some of the other things we've been noticing lately, the sense of old things being cleared out. She'll be 50 this year and it may be a moment of transition, in the way that turning 35 was.

I suppose the question is whether the changes she's enacted are just part of a general clearing-out of things in her life that are no longer relevant, or whether she has some definite plan for which it's helpful to have about £3.5M readily available ...

John Wilson follows PJ Harvey as she creates the score for a new West End theatre production of All About Eve.
Over several weeks in the run up to opening night, Polly shows John how she works at home, writing and recording demos for the soundtrack to the play, and how one musical element of the original film – Liebestraume by Franz Liszt – has become the creative touchstone for her own compositions.

There's part of this documentary, or a separate piece, going out on the Today programme as I write ... She's written two songs for the show as well as instrumental compositions.

Radio piece is a preview of the upcoming documentary. Includes Polly talking, explaining there are some new songs (!!!) including ‘Sandman’, and that she has worked in the same keys as the Liszt music used in the film - “riffing on Liszt”!
