"As part of a unique global event which will simultaneously take place in Brussels, London, Paris, Madrid, Belgrade, Athens, Milano, Sarajevo, Naples and other cities, Berlin will become part of the 4th anniversary of Julian Assange's political asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. Inspired by famous Martin Niemöller's poem "First they came... " about cowardice of German intellectuals following the Nazis' rise to power and the subsequent purging of their chosen targets, group after group, what the event "First they came for Assange... " wants to stress is that we live in dangerous time in which everyone opposed to the political and financial powers might soon become a target."

An evening prior to the big Berlin solo gig (and on the next day after Moscow).

Tomorrow there will be a live stream, and PJ is doing some speech (apparently) - I hope someone will record it.

It hasn't started for me as well (yet). But a couple of minutes ago, as I was constantly reloading this page, I heard a few seconds audio clip: I believe it was Polly's voice, and she was singing some song with lines "As I wonder, as I wonder... " - did somebody else heard this?

I heard a few seconds too and the sound was very low: they must encounter technical problems. Let's hope they're gonna find a solution

She performed two songs with John Parish and Alain Johannes: this first one ("As I wander" might be the title, it's about Jesus, Mary and angels) and "The Glorious Land". Also Assange himself mentioned Polly and Patti Smith, and said thanks to all participators.

It was slow, the refrain is something like "And I wonder as I wander under the skies", I couldn't make out ALL the words. She was also dressed bizarrely: a raincoat, some loose black blouse, mini-skirt, patterned pantyhose and boots.

"I wonder as Jesus was born for to die, like poor and the hungry, like you and like I" - I could be wrong.
