lol. This list. I'm genuinely amazed they made PJ Harvey #1, considering that some of the people listed aren't even considered to be in the 'rock' genre. Hell, not even in the good music category. But, that's just my opinion.
Check it out:
Gigwise takes a look at 50 of most independent ladies in music...lol forever at Willow Smith. {I whip my hair, back and forth}

It ain't a very credible list! I'm glad to see Polly at number 1 though. Florence Welch second? Give me a fucking break!

Hayley Williams? that twat from Paramore? .....a poor man's Avril Lavigne? I'm embarrassed I even know that god awful band's name. Massive amount of shit in this list! I couldn't go beyond number four!

You're missing out by not going further! Willow Smith is #49. Alison Mosshart? #50! Katy Pary #28! Jessie J (who?) ahead of Kim Gordon!
@jesuspolly - Yes. They left out essential women to make room for ~Rhianna and Katy B.

^ The same reason that Katy Perry and Gaga keep appearing on them!

Rock or not, Bjork is probably one of the only other acceptable artists on this list - so i'm not complaining!

I really like Alison Mosshart, bu they could have REALLY done better. What about Janis Joplin? It's as much of a joke as the rock n roll hall of fame (How the heck was ABBA inducted?) As happy as I am that polly scored so high, the list is crap. As much as I like Siouxie Sioux and Kate Bush and Tori Amos.
