Ah you are an expert. Great. Can you show me some airheaded remarks about men in music? I'm curious. Bring it on.
Get off your feministic high horse for a second and just have a think about things. If you believe there is NEVER remarks made towards male musicians/famous figures by fans/anyone, then you've either been living under a rock, or you hear what you want. I'm not saying it happens as much to men as women, not even close. Don't go throwing out the "you never read/hear"..."i've never read". That's just over the top.

[quote="Polly_Jean_Cave"]Out of what I've heard, I think "On Battleship Hill" sounds great, "Let England Shake" - turned out much better than I expected (Well, from the snippet of the song we got anyway...I was one of the one's that always liked it.). "All and Everyone, seems slightly over done...but have I told you that I think her severe meldodramaticness is one of her most attractive assets? XD. I really liked "In The Dark Places""aswell. I'm really curious to hear the rest of "England" (supposed to be one of the best tracks) and "The Colour of The Earth".

"On Battleship Field" Battleship Hill? WTF! God I'm stupid. Please forgive me. haha :bang: :bang:

It was bloody hill! Some people are calling it "On Battleship Field" though.

^ I just noticed that the overall rhythm to "In the Dark Places" is incredibly similar to The Smiths "There is a light that never goes out."

OH MY GOD! :D
This is so amazingly good. I think I just melted into to a puddle of heaven! Like others have said, I've liked the tracks instantly. The strings are folky, the rhythms are like a steam engine, the vocals are strong as usual! Cannot wait for what is to come!
Can you use a hyper-dermic needle?

I have not yet listened to a single note of this album yet. And its agooooonizing! Its soooo tempting to watch the two vids but, for once, I'm showing some self-control. I'll download a proper leak of the album cuz there is no way I could wait for the vinyl to show up.

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right. but damn, I think it would be easier to quit heroin then not listening to new PJ tracks.

I knew All & Everyone was going to be special from the moment I saw that secret show vid clip, and this clip only builds upon my excitement. The vocals on On Battleship Hill sound amazing, she's really working that upper register. She sounds like a siren! All those delta blues traces are gone, she's come full circle I think and sounds so utterly English. The melody of England! Her melodies are really out of this world on this one.

Don't eat me but I'm starting to sense some reminiscences (which are super weird but for some reason reminded me of these songs):

Bitter Branches = 16, 15, 14
The Last Living Rose = Good Fortune (wtf?)
Hanging On The Wire = Dear Darkness (obvs)
All & Everyone = The River and R.E.M. Losing My Religion (megawtf?)
Written In The Forehead (I said it b4) Something that Fever Ray could write O_O

None of this comparisions disqualifies any of the songs 'coz:

1) I'm a weirdo I mean REM?
2)Those still pretty kickass

The rest sounds pretty neat and haven't spotted any similarities

Can't wait for physical realase

I don't have that feel about her sounding English. "On Battleship Hill" sample sound so cinematic and Ennio Morricon-esque. This is my opinion based on the songs we already know and those samples, but I think she succeed in being universal on that album. Songs have Russian, Middle East, American or English influences.

Awww, I didn't see that before. I love that she's promoting LES and that she's gotten to it early too. And she reffered to her as the queen. We all know she is, but the supreme fandom she's expressing (again) is nice to see.
