Thanks so much for that video! I love the ending when she looks directly into the camera. Ah, Polly. Polly, Polly, Polly.

I can't stop watching this...the last lines of "What if I take my problem to the United Nations" give me the chills and brings tears to my eyes. Not sure why, exactly. She always has that magical way of opening some door in my conscience, know what I mean?

At any rate, here's the link to the video, if anyone wants to download:

Am I the only one that was underwhelmed by the video? Oh well, song's still amazing.
I'll rub it, until it...

I'm neither overwhelmed or underwhelmed by the vid. The whole thing reminds me of the kind of disjointed imagery of my average dream.

I'd say this imagery is like a mighty agreeable dream though.

Hmm yeah, I'm somewhat with you there. Don't get me wrong, I love the footage of PJ, I love how it cuts to her playing live and then back to the song, I don't think the visualette does anything for the song. But I think that's largely because it's such a strange sort of surrealistic song, the footage doesn't really match the atmosphere created in my opinion..though it aligns with the lyrical themes. But I'm sure Seamus did the best he could. I hope the film clip is at least exciting. Also, is it just me or is this different to the radio edit? It somehow seems bassier but quieter (could just be my earphones) and the tempo seems a bit slower.

I know EXACTLY what you mean... and it always catches me off guard. Just when you think you know it all: Wham, there she goes again. Eery. Awesome (literally). I love her so much

Actually, I'll scratch what I said before, it's just me imagining things. Its exactly the same as the radio edit.

I must admit, when I first heard the song it rubbed me the wrong way. Did not like it, and wondered what the hell is she thinking? There's definitely something not right about it. But I felt the same way when I first heard "When Under Ether". Then, after a couple listens, you can't get enough.

As for the video, it follows in the same tradition of not attempting to stamp any "meaning" onto the song. Very pedestrian...but the images of the older couples swinging and dancing is very compelling, at least for me.

Polly's singing the line, "What if I take my problem to the United Nations" sounds so similar to "I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations" from Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues". She even sings the words, United Nations, like Cochran did...putting the emphasis on the "U" of United Nations. I would think she did this on purpose.
