perhaps there is no meaning to it, just an attempt at variation without wearing any colors.

In her white dress and the autoharp she looks a bit like an ancient Greek Goddess.

It's always the black/brown dress she's wearing at the first concert in a venue, but I prefer the white one.

I'd prefer to quote that sentence in context:
"That wasn’t the only weird thing about the atmosphere. God forbid trying to leave the arena for a mid-song wee. I’ve never seen so many suspicious sods trying to form an impenetrable barrier. These middle class thirty-somethings really need to download an autoharp chill out app."

in my opinion, anyone serious enough about the music should take care of the eventual need for a wee before the show starts, not try to leave the arena while the show is in progress. and if the need should nonetheless occur, better to wet one's pants than miss a single moment of PJ's performance. this is my own (very firmly held) opinion.

could be useful too, if such a device existed for real.

I'm not sure, I believe it's part of the theatricality of the set and she probably has something in mind. But of course we'll never know.

unless Polly would reveal it in some interview. anyway the fact that all the band members are also wearing clothes without colors (only shades of white, grey, and black) would suggest that it is indeed a deliberate choice of theatricality.

I think the main thing about the wandering about during the performance was that he expected to go 'for a mid song wee'. Why not have the common decency to wait for the finish of the song and move in the break?
My pet hate is people who go to a show and treat it as a social occasion once it starts. For gods sake if you want to have a chat with your mates go to the f'ing pub don't sit/stand and do it right behind somebody who wants to listen to whats happening.

I loved Pocket Knife (started squealing and clapping like a little girl when that began!)

I just listened the London "Pocket Knife" version. Her voice sounds really nice. She could have played that one in Berlin, too.
