I finally saw this today. Hilarious! It was a little on the long side, but that's my only complaint. I enjoyed it immensely. Melissa McCarthy is awesome and it was cool to see Chris O'Dowd from the show "The IT Crowd"
:green:

They Live - "I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Rowdy Roddy Piper! Mullet! 80's! Aliens being spotted through sun glasses! a fight scene that goes on for way too long cuz you know they needed to fill 15 minutes of film! Exclamation points!
No but really, this was enjoyable for it's b-movie esque-ness. Also, it's always interesting, to me at least, to see how Los Angeles used to be back in the 80's. It looks nothing like that anymore. Well, at least, certain places I recognized./unnecessary info yo.

They Live is awesome...

Finally saw "Black Swan" - one of the weirdest films I've seen in ages, and that covers a lot of ground.

Loved it - Portman was brilliant.

Thumbs up :-)

"Due Date" - better than the "The Hangover" IMO!

Next up, the Jacquin Phoenix spoof documentary...

Bridesmaids - again. - I actually stayed while the credits rolled this time. I had no idea I missed that little bit towards the very end. My god!

X-Men: First Class - not bad. Pretty decent pop corn flick. However, that "Angel" character? Totally unnecessary. She can fly and shoot fire balls while looking super lame? Hahaha.

I haven't even heard of "Bridesmaids" - is it a chick flick?

"The Social Network"

Too long, too slow, took me several days to get through it!

Didn't bother with the Phoenix documentary, sent it back to Lovefilm as I'd had it for 3 weeks!

Next up, Tron!

(still avoiding Bridesmaids - it's only this forum that is banging on about it, I don't know anyne that's seen it?)

You don't know anyone that's seen it? I think all my friends have seen it haha or at least I can't think of anyone who hasn't seen it.

No - but seeing as how my friends all have kids maybe it's that we wait till movies come out on DVD's nowadays! Babysitters aren't cheap y'know...

Not one of my friends or family has mentioned it - I hadn't even heard of it until I read this thread. I haven't even seen a trailer for it, just the poster on the bus.

It's only number 7 in the UK charts, but it's grossed 137 million which is pretty impressive. I know lots of people that have seen Xmen : First Class, maybe it's a boy/girl thing?

^Maybe it's just not being heavily promoted out there as much as it was here?

Super 8 - It was ok, enjoyable. The kids did a superb job of course, but I couldn't help but make the obvious connections between this version and a certain 80's lovable alien. I even waited for
Spoiler! :
the rainbow at the end!

The Green Lantern - My brother watched the bootleg and I fell asleep. Enough said. Poor Ryan Reynolds. One crappy movie after the other.

Marathon Man - Great thriller. I'm ashamed to say it was my first time seeing it.

re : Ryan Reynords - 'The Nines' and 'Smokin Aces' are both great films.

I had to google 'The Messenger' - came out in 2009?

"An American soldier struggles with an ethical dilemma when he becomes involved with a widow of a fallen officer."

That sounds like a barrell of laughs!

I'll catch "Senna" when it comes out on DVD as that's been praised for months now.
