I caught an Aussie animation called Mary and Max on TV yesterday. I'd never heard about it and I was pretty impressed. A funny, witty, bittersweet, touching little movie. Go see it. Now.

It's one of my favorite movies. I recommended it to everyone I know as well. :)

A Pixar Story - Very interesting documentary on how Pixar grew to become the amazing little animation studio we all know of today. I was very fascinated by how they developed software to create such gorgeous animation. Amazing stuff. If you have Netflix, it's on "instant watch" Man, I would just LOVE to work for a company like that. Too bad my animation skills are limited to um, flip books. Mostly consisting of post it notes.

Haha, good point! :green:

Escape from Auschwitz - I'm a HUGE History dork, particularly when it comes to the Holocaust and just when I think I know there is all to know, out comes more stories and information. I was pretty amazed at how they managed to escape. Brilliant. GOING to see: Inglourious Basterds shortly - can anybody recommend? (I'll watch it anyway XD)

I'm a sucker for Tarantino in moderate dozes. Great storyteller but it's just like all his characters end up talking like him? talktalktalk (except maybe for Maria de Medeiros in Pulp Fic.)

Pulp Fiction is such an incredible movie, definitely one of my favourite.
Regarding Inglourious Basterds, I kinda enjoyed the movie, it's long but I didn't get bored at all and still keep a good memory of it. Though, it wasn't in my opinion as good as the epic Pulp Fiction, of course.

been watching a lot of movies lately:
-The Piano Teacher (LOVEDLOVED)
-Ma Mere
-Home
-Anatomy of Hell (W-T-F serrrrriously)
-White Material
-Moment of Death (Natgeo doc, really really interesting)
-8: The Mormon Proposition (interesting look at what all went down with Prop 8) One woman in that documentary SERIOUSLY said "we can't allow gay marriage cause we'll run out of people" because everyone knows that gay people don't have working sex organs :eyeroll: puhleeeease
-The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (this family is ridiculous and really endorses the whole stereotype of WV being a shithole full of hicks [no offense to anyone there, I'm sure the whole state isn't that bad.] but really an entertaining documentary)
-All Good Things (meh....)

Serious French kick there for a bit.

Thor - Can I get some corn with a side of cheese? Man. The costumes were pretty awful, weren't they? And I love how he redeems himself in a day! A day! Oh, how I enjoyed this movie.

Angus - Omg, a young James Van Der Beek! (you know Dawson, from Dawson's Creek?) Basically: Fat, unpopular dorky guy loves hot popular girl. She has a jerk of a boyfriend that torments/bullies said fat, unpopular guy. Goes to prom, gives big speech, cue slow claps which leads to everyone cheering. Yay 90's.
It had some pretty laugh out loud moments, but that ending ruined it for me.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing Bridesmaids this weekend. :green:

Pitifuljoy I want to see Thor (as a huge Jack Kirby fan). I love the old comics.

Tron (2010) - visually stunning (of course), boring story, too long. Jeff Bridges CGI character was distracting and not in a good way. Ok for a late night viewing if you have nothing better to do. I should get around to watching the original though. Haha.

Agree, as for me even the second part was below the average. Did't like it at all.

Bridesmaids- loved it, I've loved Kristen Wiig since she started on SNL and it's awesome to finally see her in a feature role since I totally love her.

All Good Things- meh.

Keane- meh, only great thing in it was Amy Ryan <3

Jack Goes Boating- Philip Seymour Hoffman's directorial debut, also with Amy Ryan. Cute, little independent film.
