^ Ha, clash of egos. I love them both, for different reasons. Neither one is an instrumentalist. Miles Davis couldn't keep up with the frenetic pace of bebop so he deliberately kept it simple, which for him turned out to be a genius move. Monk the same, compared to say, Art Tatum. But he has a casual, heavily syncopated style that has never been equaled.

and just to surprise myself stevie wonder - kind of a shock tactic to get myself to tidy up without noticing that that is what i'm doing
tried listening to Grinderman 'heathen child' but nick and co have just lost their magic for me, but it does make me laugh
