I've just received eMail from Amazon.uk telling that the vinyl delivery shifted from Aprl to July
did anybody else...?

Its kind of strange that the link Kuk91 posted earlier suggested the next single was A Line In The Sand. But do we know this song is a single, or perhaps she is just releasing a song each day in the lead up the album?

I can believe it, people of that level of creativity and vision are often very controlling and manipulative. Its a side effect of one of the traits that make him so great. He has a clear vision in his head and will stop at nothing to see the vision carried out. When somebody gets in your path, you're so absorbed in your work that you just have no time for it. A problem with people writing about genius's like Don is that it's so hard to understand what its like, that they can't really grasp their motives. It very well may be that Don didn't see any of his actions as cruel, but nessescary.

At various times one or another of the group members was put "in the barrel", with Van Vliet berating him continually, sometimes for days, until the musician collapsed in tears or in total submission to Van Vliet"

Without those traits, we wouldn't have all the groundbreaking music he has made. PJ is known to be controlling, perhaps less so than Beefheart lol but it goes with the territory often.

True enough, but Don's childhood friend Frank Zappa is also considered a genius by many and John French's "house building" comparison between the two of them when it comes to their bands is enlightening:

Thanks for the quote, is is thought provoking. Every genius is different. In my experience, more often than not very creative people often have trouble relating to people. Not always the case, but it seems common. I mean you can kind of look in Beefhearts eyes and just tell he is "different" lol

Yeah - I guess there must be an issues with production. Maybe more warping? I can wait for the vinyl.. I mainly need the mp3s for my player

Amazon.com still says expected delivery is April 15th. I emailed Lefty records (based in US) who posted the picture of the vinyl asking if he heard about a recall or production issues and he said:

"no, haven't heard anything about that. i got copies and distributor says 4/15 release day"

Seems like the people that received the delay notification are outside of the US. I wonder if it's just different distributors and the problem is in the overseas production?

edit: he said the vinyl say "made in E.U." so maybe it's not production problems? I don't know at this point.
