Yes, I think so. Take a look here, it's pretty far down, but it's really interesting getting there.

Re: Polly's Gear Thread
I just saw a pic from what looks like to be from 1993, and she's playing a Sunburst Fender Jaguar. The pic is in this video...

And even though you can't see a whole lot, that's definately a Fender Jaguar.

I always thought it was a Jazzmaster, but they're very similar.
Screen snap rom the Chicago Metro, 1993.

They are extremely similar guitars, but the Jaguar has a few extra controls and switches on it that the Jazzmaster doesn't. That's the only way i could tell them apart.

Does anyone know what guitars/effects she's using on 4-Track Demos? Such a glorious noise.

Re: Polly's Gear Thread
I'd assume she's using a Boss DS-1 for her distortion sound, but seeing as it's an album recording she could be using anything. Stompbox, rackmount, amp overdrives... The DS-1 is what she uses live, and seeing as she did these demo's by herself, the DS-1 seems most likely for the overdrive. As for guitars... I'm not too sure.
I know she used a Yamaha MT 2X 4-track recorder to record everything. I'll see if i can find anything on the guitars.

Re: Polly's Gear Thread
Just found another guitar of Polly's.
http://www.jphuntley.co.uk/pjh/picpage. ... /dry18.jpg
It's a Gretsch of some sort, but it's definately not the Broadkaster because this one has a vibrato tremolo on the end. It's from somewhere between 1991-1994.

Jags have the narrow single coils also. Jazzmasters had those "P90" shaped pick ups.
Don't recall seeing her play it past those first couple of years. Thanks for the shot hell
Here's a shot of JP with a Jazzmaster

Nice, alot of these old Gretsch guitars are hard for me to place, don't know much about 'em. Popped into a couple of sites but far to many models and lots that look the same as others at a glance. Made me dizzy so I left

I don't think I've seen another picture that really shows how weathered that firebird is like this one does. Nice shot

Re: Polly's Gear Thread
sorry it took so long for me to get back about the pedals, my friend finally returned my message. in this one http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq1jgQrA he says there's:
-boss tremelo
- proco rat
-tube screamer
-boss analog delay
and in this http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq1jgGt0 there's:
- line 6 dl-4
- boss ds-1
- boss dd-? (3-5 most likely)
another boss distortion

if there's a want for something new, you might find me at the start, or where it ends for you.

Re: Polly's Gear Thread
I've just been watching some of the video's on Maria's YouTube page and i've seen a few new pedals of Pollys. At 2:26 of the "Please Leave Quietly" video there is a quick close-up of Pollys pedals. You can mainly see that custom dual pedal, but next to that looks to be a Danelectro DE-1 Dan-Echo. Even though the still is quite pixelated it's definately Danelectro, and it seems to match the DE-1 most of all, which is a simulated tape echo delay.
And then at 1:21 in "The Letter" there is a still shot of a pedal called "Foxy Lady" (can't read the brand name), and it appears to be both an octave effect, and fuzz (two foot-switches). I can't seem to find anything on it though. The closest i can get is "Foxey Lady" by Guild, and manufactured by Electro-Harmonix in the 70's. But the one in the still appears to be quite new. Unless it's just an old one rehoused with an added footswitch...? It's very hard to tell. Sharing the same name as a Jimi Hendrix song really makes searching that little bit harder. I'm assuming the original one would have been an octavia style fuzz, which is pretty much +1 octave with some fuzz to make it more screaming/squeeling and increase the sustain. I can't think of any of her songs where she may have used an effect like this... It's an easily distinguishable sound.
