The Garden, a PJ Harvey Discussion Site

I didn’t even know PJ had any part in this! But this morning, I saw a short clip of Sandra onstage with no context and thought, “Reminds me of PJ Harvey.”

I'm new here on this platform, joined beginning of august, my first reaction aswell.
Went to Dorset a few weeks ago (first time England countryside) and it gave more insight is her book Orlam.
We stayed in Evershot, nearby the village where PJ grew up.
Regarding 'I want absolute beauty', I was able to get 2 tickets yesterday for this sunday.
Really looking forward and will give some feedback afterwards.

I went to see it this sunday and it blew me away.
Sandra Hüller did a perfect job, with such passion and power.
The videowall and depth of the stage really worked.
I hope the play will travel around Europe, for more fans and people to experience this beauty.

Are all the songs performed in their entirety or are they shortened? Just curious because 26 tracks is a massive setlist to get through, especially with seemingly demanding choreography - Sandra Hüller must have killer lungs lol

I guess the lengths maybe were a bit adjusted, but I experienced it as sung intirely..
The sum of all songs is one hour and thirtyseven minutes .
The play lasted around one hour and thirty minutes (but didn't time it).
There were no dialogues, one song after the other sung.
So al props for Sandra Hüller!! she really was amazing (you are correct about the killer lungs !)
Her part in the choreography was adapted of course but nevertheless she still had some energetic moves to carry out.

Looking forward to a documentary or film of this play..
