I don't remember this being discussed already, nor do I remember were I got this scan from (I've been collecting photos and articles for more than 20 years now), BUT there's an interesting bit in this "exclusive track by track preview of Rid Of Me" from the Melody Maker: the mention of a song called "Blood", described as another twisted erotic nightmare of a song."I love it, I'll kill it", she sings.
WHAAAAT? Is that just a mistake?

the description suggest they are talking about "rub til it bleeds." I think they have quoted some mangled lyrics

Exactly, and they also described Rub til it Bleeds as the shortest song, while it is actually the longest (5:04) so... not very reliable.

Yes, maybe they thought the second half of Rub Til It Bleeds was a separate song. That would also explain why they thought is was short.
