I was listening to one of Billy Childish's (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Childish) audiobooks of poetry the other day (Poems of a Backwater Visionary:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/poems-backwater-visionary/id269273770). The poem "Thumb Print" contains the following lines:
And I see you kissing in other people's arms / In cheap bars, oblivious / Loving only your own pain.
In The Falling (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJwlugPzRDU), Polly sings:
I see you kissing in other peoples arms / See you kissing in cheap bars / How to walk and where to run / How to walk and where to run / I see you kissing oblivious / Loving only your pain. It's a near direct rip. I know she's namedropped him once or twice in interviews saying she admires his work.
