A beautiful song which has actually turned out to be prehaps my most favourite from the LES period

Did anyone ever figure out chords to it ?

most grateful if so ...

Joe

Capo on 7th fret. Am (hammer off/on D string), C/G and Dm for the verses, though there are a few occasions ("ninety-five steps I'm taking" for example) where it changes to Dm-C/G-Am. I still can't figure out the chords for the chorus yet though.

Hope that helps, I know I'm not the best at explaining it!

I just saw this thread and I'm trying to figure this song out. Hope it helps but some of the chords may be wrong. I started by following drownsoda's steps ;)

Am C/G Dm Am
Shadows lengthening
Dm C/G Am
Ninety five steps I'm taking
Am C/G Dm Am
With every step I'm longing
Dm C/G Am
For the luck to keep on living

G Dm C/G Dm
The drum calls me back again
G Dm C/G Am
To my senses, filled with shame

Am C/G Dm Am
I wish this night
Dm C/G Am
Would never end
Am C/G Dm Am
And on no-man's land
Dm C/G Am
The sun would not rise again

G Dm C/G Dm
There was laughing and I could not laugh
G Dm C/G Am
There was singing and I could not sing
G Dm Am
The big guns called me back again

Am C/G Dm Am
I hear voices singing
Dm C/G Am
I hear the guns beginning
Am C/G Am
Far off, far away
G Dm Am
I hear the guns again

First, second and third stanzas: Am C/G Dm Am Dm C/G Am Am C/G Dm Am Dm C/G Am Rolling stanzas G Dm C/G Dm G Dm C/G Am The whole song follows the same pattern. The strumming is a usual pattern. You can use any strum and most of the strumming patterns match with this song.
