Fabulous!
I'm getting Kurt Cobain vibes off the beige jumper in the first one and well, just 1991 Polly from the second one - give her a big red guitar and who would know the difference?

“With my hair I’ll mop them dry!” Among my top 3 favorite PJH tunes. Loving the pictures posted lately in this thread—I wouldn’t have come across them otherwise. Thank you everyone!

P J HARVEY. YEOVIL. ENGLAND. April 5 1995. Photo: ©Kevin Westenberg. The first polaroid taken to test the lighting for my first shoot with the amazing Polly Harvey. Shot back in the mid-90’s in her hometown of Yeovil. Although I consider this as one of my key shoots of the 1990’s, which set the tone of that particular era, I realized the other day, I had never said much of anything about this shoot as it was hiding away unseen. I’ve been analyzing all the photos posted for the last 6 years, but this just slipped by somehow. No matter where I looked in my records, I could not find the purpose of this shoot or which editorial outlet I shot these for. A few weeks before, I got invited to shoot her for Rolling Stone in NYC but I know this shoot in Yeovil was not for RS 100%. I remember the train down and a small room photo studio where we set up the backcloth and lighting but there is where the memory ends. I liked the look of the lighting but needed to confirm, as usual before committing to film. She was always so cool, so kind and giving as well without being obnoxious. I personally think she’s the greatest singer to come out of the UK during this era and wanted to do my best work to represent her. Photo: ©Kevin Westenberg.
