(nobody would notice them wearing civvies, would they? I mean Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, walking together, would probably pass incogniti in Manchester, England. - unless of course it wasn't them but Cameron & Clegg. a smart way for politicians to escape the embarrassment of voter recognition.) |

3 times for me so far. 1st was at the bristol fleece and firkin on 0ctober 9th 1996 (polly's birthday!) my first pj gig. i remember thinking what an amazing presence she had and i was mesmerized from start to finish. i was glad it was a small gig, very intimate i particularly remember taut, polly was pacing up and down the stage and i noticed john parrish smiling happily whilst watching her. i remember the violinist from deus came on at the end and they performed some songs not from dance hall at louse point, but i can't remember what they were. 2nd was at brixton academy in london in october of 2001, just a month after 9/11. one of the highlights for me was hearing will's song which i adore (wish there was a studio version). she was wearing black , i think and played a great show. 3rd was the camp bestival appearance in lulworth. - a very special evening and i was so happy to witness and feel one of the few one woman shows she put on around this time. again i was struck by her presence and i remember everyone cheering when she sang the line 'Dorset's cliffs meet at the sea'. |

Big Day Out, Adelaide 02/02/01 Big Day Out, Melbourne 27/01/03 Palais Theatre, Melbourne 28/01/03 Big Day Out, Adelaide 31/01/03 Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide 27/11/04 Paradiso, Amsterdam 30/05/11 Paradiso, Amsterdam 31/05/11 Regent Theatre, Melbourne 15/01/12 Regent Theatre, Melbourne 16/01/12 Mona Foma, Hobart 21/01/12 Melbourne Writer's Festival, Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne 01/09/16 I also saw The Dresden Dolls show at Mona Foma with John Parish and Mick Harvey and witnessed Amanda Palmer attempt to drag Polly on stage (it didn't work, obviously). I'm still bummed, after all these years, that I managed to miss the White Chalk shows (I missed her by a matter of days for the Australian tour, then was a week late in Rome). I'm hoping to add 3 shows from the upcoming Australian tour! |
