Well, that was something. She looked almost as ridiculous as this guy from Australian band "Empire of the Sun", but in general I liked it. That was cute when she's forgotten few lines from "A Line In the Sand", and "The Ministry Of Social Affairs" was fantastic! Kinda was hoping for "Memorials" to be played, though.

Here's what I picked up during the credits: "Musical direction - John Parish".

I laughed out loud at "Let England Shake" when she was doing these stuff with her hands (in gloves) during "insects" line!! ))) Plus, Mick Harvey and James Johnston are just a lot of fun to look at (Mick's reactions and stuff, and Johnston is just a very passionate performer). Also noticed that Terry Edwards looks alot like Armand Assante to me (from some angles).

And the intro of "50ft Queenie" (played by John Parish) sounded so badass!!

One thing that was missing for me during songs 2-5 - operators were rarely showing Jean-Marc and Kenrick Rowe at work (also they hadn't shown how the wall is rises at all).
Hope we'll get a TV edit soon!

fantastic to finally see some pro-shot footage!
the camera man pissed me off a little though... should be head on when shes singing TBYML
and it was a big relief when she came back for the encore.. thought she wasn't gonna bother
oh and the wheel sounded a bit odd after the first verse something seemed to be missing

I think saxes were a bit quiet in the second verse. And also during the intro I almost couldn't hear the guitars at all.

The live version of River Anacostia tonight was monumental and was a kind of fantastic tribute to what happened in the states. It made me think to Louis Armstrong, has she already mentioned him in interviews. There was a jazz blues feeling, her brass section sounded like some big band from Lousiana, mourning. I was shivering from head to toe. Listen to the album Louis and the good book and you'll know what I mean. It was soul music, black music, very gospel.
The live version of Dollar Dollar was spooky, mysterious and really ambitious. Along with the breathtaking version of The Ministry of Defence, it was the winning trio of the night :applause:

It is true that the brass section had to explode during the Wheel... so , I would say it is clear that the sound engineer didn't find the right balance on this track. Was it a problem with the monitors on stage ? On the other concerts, it was big it breathes whereas here it sounded a bit flat. It was super cold, so the band had to warm up. it is also the first time of the tour that she wore gloves and a kind of winter outfit.

Anyway, what an awesome show. I'm not far to think it is her best and most ambitious tour since TBYML. The arrangements on that tour are rich and multi layered. It is gonna be a treat to listen to this recording again and again. No need to mince words, what she offers on that tour, is rare, this is an artist at her best level. A new road opens. If the next album is recorded with these musicians, this edgy brass section, it is gonna be awesome. The future is full of promises

By the way, they changed the song order just a tiny bit: after "The Community Of Hope" they played "The Orange Monkey" first, and then "A Line In The Sand"
(last few shows it was vice-versa).
