Marc Riley was discussing some comments by Polly in a "London listings magazine" on his Radio 6 show last Thursday. She had said that when Steve Vaughan's amp was set up at a certain angle she enjoyed a certain feeling when he hit an A. They played a lot with A that night, apparently, :-)

Go to show with Richard Hawley in session. I've checked and I can't find the discussion. I'm sure it was around the time he discusses Morrissey's 'stalking' of Johnny Rogan on Rogan's US book tour. (1 hour, 39 minutes mark). Only available to listen again to those inside the British Isles:

The story I recall is that Polly said she enjoyed sitting on the bass cabinet, because of the vibrations.

It might be a bit peculiar if when she accepts your invitation that you say, "Have a seat, right there. No there, yes."

I remember reading about that, thanks Dr. By the way, here's an idea for you: have you thought of writing an encyclopedia of Polly? Of course, I will demand at least 40% of the profits because it was my idea! :-)

Got the idea from reading the wonderful Mozipedia by Simon Goddard, about Morrissey and The Smiths; it was voted best music book of 2009 by readers of Mojo magazine.

So...working title: Pollypedia. That would be an excellent book.

^ Hopefully Blandford will update his book into a 3rd edition, but somehow I doubt that will happen. In the meantime we can elaborate on Wikipedia's PJ Harvey entry. It's actually pretty sparse and superficial I think.

There's even a discussion page there now.

Hmmm I bet there will be more books about Polly, even if not by Blandford. Actually I wish not by Blandford, not that he didn't do a damn good job, but it would be nice to have another point of view sometimes.

Yes, we reinvent what's already there... it's not exactly sparse but you can always improve. for example there should be chapters for the different Polly eras, which are quite well delimited in time.

Interesting that the Garden link is back, but the discography is gone.

Where is it going? I thought we were going to improve wikipedia's article first.
