what a waste of written messages and informative postings; a lot of those were worth preserving, if only as a store for reference.

Well, that's a shame. I guess the old host did a little house cleaning, if only they had supplied a little support, and backups.

I spent several hours saving and archiving threads, and posted them here. I had hoped other people would do the same, but it is quite time consuming.

On the up side, new material is being added to the Internet every day, so when questions come up now, a new search may turn up material that was not there years ago. There are always new discoveries to be made.

Perhaps they shut it down for lack of activity as of late, but who knows. The (unsurprising) truth is we didn't get any notification whatsoever. Looks like Hell got us out of there just in time.

I think somebody bought the host as an investment and if it didn't turn out to be profitable, it would suddenly disappear. Without backups, tech support or any communication from the admin, I don't see it succeeding.

This is where you are supposed to go for help, but the only help you would get is if you're looking to buy something.

LOL, yeah, the admin has really high morals apparently. Bribery didn't work.
