It doesn't hurt that a line in the sand and the glorious land both have five syllables and rhyme with each other lol. I don't know which song I like more, I really like the bass in glorious land, I really like her voice in line in the sand/
just had a thought today
does ministry of defense kind of remind anybody else of Easy from 4 track lol?

Reading of Hollow of the Hand in London 9th May
https://www.waterstones.com/events/meet ... piccadilly

guess it's her way to present the album instead of interviews and as I witnessed, she is succeeding!
she interprets poems with empathy while watching to Seamus photos, add it to the Record gives a clear view of the whole Project

I was talking with my boyfriend who found, as others, that the poems are mere view, purely observational, but 'The Boy' moved him. Another friend said the same, but 'Chain of Keys' had impact on him. A girl reported that she was crying during 'The Guest Room', 'Charikar' and 'Talking to Dog' for me. 'Sight-seeing' aka HSDP was pure fun!

That's the point! She's giving us her view of what she saw, to the World. It's up to us fill the missing parts! What would I have done?

I often cry during Dollar, Dollar, I like all the male Choirs that differs with her clear voice. John's voice too. I go to sleep and wake up with A line in the sand stuck in my head. Always dance during Orange monkey. Sax parts gives me goose bumps. I am singing out loud while I go to work, walking the streets, looking into the passersby eyes

thanks God I'm on Earth while there's Polly's Art :)

Sorry if I'm overwhelmed and for my grammar errors, hope you enjoy!

Stereogum is so full of shit lol

Some days ago they say Hope Six is a shit, now there are no bad albums at all. Surely tops like this are very personal but LES below Uh Huh Her and Dance Hall really?? I wonder if Zach drank a whole bottle or Tom shared half of it with him.

What is Polly saying at the end of River Anacostia while the male voices are singing "wade in the water"? Can't quite make it out.

It was reflected in my transcription of the lyrics from Royal Festival Hall - "What will become if God's gonna trouble waters?".

And as for "if" I'm not entirely sure, but the last part was very noticeable in the live version - while male voices were saying "water", Polly for all three times was singing "waters".
Thank you! I hear it now. "What will become? God's gonna trouble waters". I do hear an s sound in there.

wtf is wrong with stereo gum? Where do they get their writers? Whilst this review, or whatever it is, is one of the stupidest things I've seen this week, I do agree with his opinion on LES( the song). The lyrics are really strong, but its like the most grating nursery rhyme ever to me. The only thing that relegates it to third in my personal favorites after tbyml and stories.

Hi Gardeners :-)

The long Wait was worth it - another fantastic Album - not as catchy as LES - but that`s Polly :-)
I have read plenty of German Reviews - except for one - all the others say it`s another brilliant Piece of Work - many made it to the Album of the Week and claim it already as one of the Best Albums in 2016 :-)

Itunes Germany it ranks already on No. 22...........

:-)

Reports are that the album is going to be number 1 in the British charts!

I have a feeling that might not happen.

PJ Harvey scores her first chart topper!!

PJ Harvey’s marketing manager at Island Records Holly Williams says, “We’re delighted. It’s testament to PJ’s music and artistry that’s she’s consistently, over nine albums, given fans a really good reason to get behind her. Huge thanks and shout out to the PJ team at Island.”
