I love "White Chalk" era shows, but that's too minimalistic even for me. 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
I just want her to pick up the guitar and play "Rid of Me" - I don't like it when rock-stars go "artsy". 5%  5%  [ 2 ]

Maybe it is a closer, but I don't think that's an album order of songs overall. And Murphy did said in the radio-interview that there's gonna be at least a couple more songs on the record.

Also, now I think that "Throwing Nothing" could also be a good title for the album - you could apply this phrase to many situations: like, when military jets throw bombs and destroy everything ("create nothing"), or when politicians give big promises before elections ("throw words to the wind"), or it could be said of a person who tries to change the world, it also can be read as a hint for consumer society. It even goes well with Polly's often-said thought about beauty of performing music live (it's happening in the moment, and then it's gone).

I was hoping there would be more songs on the album, that's good news. Def hope UNHCR makes it, and Ill Be Waiting.
I wasn't thinking the songs would be in that exact order, but I think River Anacostia would just be a great closer. Closing the album with the question, what will become of us? I think that's perfect.

About the title, I think it's possible this could be like Stories and have a title that isn't the name of a song.

Community of Hope was brilliant, and I've listened to River Anacostia about 5 times. Everything else left me so underwhelmed that it kind of ruined my day

Wow, at first Community of Hope and Homo Sappy were the songs I didn't immediately like. Now though, I cant get all of them out of my head. I think this has potential to be my favorite album of hers.

many thanks Black Hearted Love

I guess i am missing something, I click on the files, they seem to download, then it prompts me to open in i tunes, but there is nothing there ... I am on a Mac book Air. Whilst I dont want to clog up the pages of The Garden with tech advise, I hope that someone will feel inclined to load these up on some other forum so we can take a listen !

x

Hi joe, try downloading an app that opens videos. Like a video player. Or, natnhos has uploaded a few of the songs on YouTube.

Can someone confirm the (song) set order for Oct 9 was:

01 chain of keys
02 the wheel
03 the orange monkey
04 the ministry of social affairs
05 dollar dollar
06 the community of hope
07 homo sappy blues
08 medicinals
09 near the memorials to vietnam and lincoln
10 river anacostia

as well as the setlist for Oct 10 was the same?

pollyharvey.co.uk is showing the same setlist for both nights and the orange monkey and the ministry of social affairs swapped:

Here:

all the same songs played again tonight, here is the complete setlist (as I think I remember them in the right order, but correct me if I would be in any way mistaken):

Chain of Keys
The Wheel
Ministry of Social Affairs
The Orange Monkey
Dollar, Dollar
Community of Hope
Homo Sappy Blues
Medicinals
Near the Memorials to Vietnam and Lincoln
River Anacostia

But there's also that:

Spoiler! :
http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/features/articles/that-hollow-feeling-pj-harvey-seamus-murphy-live-in-london

Precise tracklist from the second night:

Kosovo

Poem – On a Dirt Road
Poem – The Abandoned Village
Song – Chain of Keys
Poem – Dance on the Mountain
Poem – Where it Begins
Song – The Wheel

Afghanistan

Song – The Orange Monkey
Poem – The Guest Room
Poem – Adhan
Poem – The Hand
Song – The Ministry of Social Affairs
Poem – An Initiation
Poem – The Boy
Poem – Charikar
Poem – The Glass
Song – Dollar, Dollar
Poem – Poem
Poem – Dead Tanks
Poem – The First Shot
Poem – Begging Bowl
Poem – Talking to Dog
Poem – At the Airbase

Washington, D.C

Song – The Community of Hope
Poem – To the Oldest Homo Sapiens
Song – Homo Sappy Blues
Poem – On the Corner of 1st and D
Poem – 3am Washington, DC
Song – Medicinals
Song – Near the Memorials to Vietnam and Lincoln
Poem – Two Cemeteries
Poem – Anacostia
Song – River Anacostia

And it kinda makes sense - with "The Orange Monkey" being the first poem about Afghanistan in the book.
