Some oldie TV performance of Polly was featured on the BBC4 Halloween special "Goth at the BBC". There's gonna be a rerun: http://www.tvguide.co.uk/actor.asp?actor=PJ%20Harvey. Maybe somebody saw it? It was in HD.

heres a blog from the peaky blinders director on the use of the PJH music http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tv/posts/Pea ... um=twitter

Quote:
My fantasy from fairly early on was both to use music by PJ Harvey within the source tracks, and to find a way to collaborate with her. Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby, is great friends with Flood, the producer who has worked with Polly Harvey (as well as Nick Cave) and we began to talk about whether there might be a way for this to work. We needed someone else in the process who could create an original score from Polly’s music and Flood suggested Paul Hartnoll (formerly of Orbital) as a final collaborator in the process.

You can view "Goth at the BBC" here on their iPlayer, I understand it is not available in every country.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04mqfl1/goth-at-the-bbc

"Goth" is a very loose term here and it is a collection of the good, the bad and the ugly  , the ugly being the omission of Joy Division :pissed:

All Polly's BBC stuff is on YouTube, and I guess also the other bands material is as well.

I've decided NOT to start a new topic called "An old song played on the radio 13 and a half years ago!", so...

Here I found an mp3 record of John Peel's show from 28th February 2001: http://theperfumedgarden.blogspot.ru/2014/11/john-peel-28th-february-2001.html.
He played "Kick It To The Ground" that day, so I cut it out: http://www.mediafire.com/download/755f94n856j24oo/01-pj_KIt-jP-20_spbv.rar.

Now, quality isn't perfect, but it's better than previous version that was circling around before. John Peel played it off vinyl ("A Place Called Home" single, I suppose), and he played it in its entirety, too.

And once again, I've already listened to this song today on my own (even before I stumbled upon this pleasant surprise). Maybe I'm a psychic? Or maybe that's somehow related to the fact what I listen to Polly's music for hours every goddamn day. )))

If you can't watch BBC iPlayer because you're outside the UK (like me...), there is an add-on available for Firefox (Windows OS): mediahint.
It has been removed from the official Mozilla-website (because it works!) and it circumvents the geo-blocking that is used on some websites.
Add-ons have an XPI-extension, you rightclick it and open it with Firefox and Firefox will ask you to install it.

You can download it here (zipped):

http://www34.zippyshare.com/v/50192195/file.html

Works like a charm for on-demand viewing (not for live though):

Have fun watching iPlayer :green: :green: :green:

Ambient version of "C'mon Billy" on BBC site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02b60bj!!

It doesn't seem to be working for now, but when it does, I hope that someone (Romario11, for example) will pull it out of BBC player, so that I could convert it to mp3 for everyone to enjoy. )))

In episode 6 they used regular versions of "Naked Cousin" and "Down by the Water". Another instrumental rendition of "To Bring You My Love" is here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/bv60bd2n0imuoxj/14-pB_pj_20_60-spbv.rar.

I'm going to miss this feeling of expecting new (and not so new) Polly stuff every week.

Found an amateur remix of a "Broken Harp" on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xASMZVznXRw.
First minute is pretty cool, after that - the beat is seems out of place.
