I clocked samples of Long Snake Moan and Down By The Water dropped in a couple of times too. The end credits just rolled and Polly is name-checked in "Music by" - so I'm assuming she has had a much larger role in contributing to the soundtrack than just donating some TBYML songs and a cover of Red Right Hand? The use of the TBYML material was seamlessly integrated with the rest of the score, so maybe Polly had a hand in re-working things? Was that her vocal on another (new to me) track, duetting with a male vocalist? The whole soundtrack is delicious - hope it gets released in some form!

Yes it was definitely her vocals & quite a few samples of hers reworked, some quite different but definitely our Polls & really suited the very dark era & storyline :)

Ah, more fool me for failing to read all the relevant links before commenting! Thank you for the info, Romario 11 :) I just got so excited hearing TBYML dropped in all over the place - I can't wait to see what else pops up across the series...

I've cut out some of the new stuff from the score (all in one mp3 file): http://www.mediafire.com/download/pu8ftujeta1wb0g/pb-pj.rar.

In episode 2, right on Polly Jean's birthday, we'll hear a "Broken Harp" of "White Chalk"!! [and I've listened to this song today even before this news.]

"...Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) is stretchered off to hospital to the liltingly lovely, if inevitably anachronistic, strains of PJ Harvey's Broken Harp."

Did the same thing with episode two: http://www.mediafire.com/download/851bh89x2gnq70t/pJ-pb_2.rar.

There's a FULLY acapella version of "Broken Harp"s beginning, "Man-Size" instrumental version (and the song was produced by Albini, not Flood), small "A Perfect Day, Elise" instrumental piece, and an interesting variation of the last instrumental part from "To Bring You My Love".

There also was a chopped version of "When Under Ether", plus they played some beautiful instrumental variation of this song twice (very ambient-ey, with violins and stuff), but there was too much of the dialogue going along, so I put all of that in a separate mp3 file.

God, I'm so excited to hear A FULL (hopefully so) version of the "Red Right Hand" cover next week!!

On official "BBC Two" site you could listen to some pieces of score: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028b8kf and http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028b9nx.

It says that "Red Right Hand" will be available soon: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028p7np!! Duration is 02:50.

There's also some piece called "The Water is Wide": http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028p6b0. Probably, that's another variation of "Down by the Water", like in this preview clip: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028pbnp.
______________________________________________________

It's already arrived! Could someone rip it from BBC player?

And "The Water is Wide" is A NEW SONG (ambient with a harp and FATALLY BEAUTIFUL lyrics, to be precise)!!

"The Water is Wide"

The water is wide, I cannot cross over
And neither have I wings to fly
Oh, build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row, my love and I

There is a ship, and she sails the seas
She's laden deep, as deep can be
But not so deep as the love I'm in
I know not if I sink or swim

Oh, love is handsome and love is fine
Bright as a jewel when first it's new
But love grows old and waxes cold
And fades away, like the morning dew

Now, it's a very old FOLK SONG: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Water_Is_Wide_%28song%29. It kinda reminds "The Desperate Kingdom of Love" in its timeless tone, which in turn always reminded me the "Lonesome Town" by Ricky Nelson. I LOVE IT!!

I know of "The Water is Wide" from the Fred Neil version, which is fantastic.
