'Scuze me, I got a call.

It's hard for admins to answer this question since they can delete any post at any time, there is a little box with an "x" in every post for them.

To delete your own posts, um, let me see.

— Yes. In the lower right hand corner of this text box, there is an "!" button and a "x" button, the x deletes your post. There may be a time limit on this, but I won't know until later.

Usually a regular member can only delete their posts provided no one has posted after them. No time limit. Can you confirm that Joe?

Yes, there is either a time limit or it's because someone has posted after me, but I can no longer delete my post.

In that case, I'm sure an admin would delete a post for you if you ask.

For some reason when I hit "more smilies" and try to use them they won't work. Am I missing something? The new ones are kinda giving me the creeps  < see, doesn't that look creepy?

Odd. I just tried to edit your post and added a smiley from the "more smilies" with no problem. Do you have Javascript enabled?

ETA: I checked the source code of the "more smilies" page and it is indeed a Javascript function. That's my best guess, that it's something to do with your Javascript.

It was hell but I found another line that said enable "scriptlet" whatever that is seems to have done it. :thumb: thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

edit: huh....it worked once! even as I edit this same post it won't work. weird, not overly important but weird

Scriptlet :?:

Which browser are you using? Is this a new problem that maybe coincides with something else?

yeah i've never heard of it either whatever it is I turned it off again. Javascript is on and always has been. They never did work, just never worried about it. Using IE and haven't made any changes recently. Must have tried them a hundred times over the last couple of months and the post above is the only time they worked. Have to admit it was a funny post to work in considering the topic. I'll nose around and see what I can figure out.

oh and: Scriptlets
A JSP scriptlet is used to contain any code fragment that is valid for the scripting language used in a page. (not that this means anything to me )

You know what Hell, I switched from hermes green back to fisubice2 (I changed to green when we moved here) and check this out :) :p  :naughty: :crap:

It would seem that it has something to do with the Hermes Green board style (that i've come to like) Just as a point of interest when I try to use 'em it shoots the screen down to the sys tray

Ok, I'm in Hermes Green - :booty: :wtf:

And the mystery deepens. Well, at least you got it to work!

Notice:

This web site was down briefly and I've been having some other problems with accounts that are on this server. I called the ISP and their engineers are "watching" and looking to correct the problem. So if the site should go down for any extended period, don't panic, it should be back soon. You may email me at loop city at hotmail dot com with any questions, just convert that to a standard email address. Everything is backed up as of today.
