From 7th September; only just found it.

By Lucy Jones. Don't worry, she's a fan:

Yes, yes it really is that good. Today my 10 year old brother asked me what I was listening to and I played The Colour Of The Earth to him and translated the lyrics verse by verse. It brought tears to his eyes. And then I teared up a bit too, because he teared up. Wonderful, wonderful music

It's simply a fantastic album and I'm not just saying this as a fan. I'll admit, I was a bit worried I wasn't going to like the direction she was headed towards when I first heard her live performance of "Let England Shake" on that british program(sorry it escapes me). Even after these many months, I'm still blown away by it. The music. The lyrics. The delivery. Just brilliant.

It's an amazing piece of work and I'm glad she's getting recognition for it. Much deserved.

I know the focus has been all on the writing/lyrics for LES, but it wouldn't be captivating if not for how splendid the melodies are, or how each tune seems to complement the next. The lyrics are wonderful, but what makes the album for me is the sheer inventiveness of the sound itself.

^ I completely agree with this. I find that I respond to this record more intellectually than emotionally as compared to her other records. I think the emotional reaction I do get is evoked from the music and less from the words. Though of course the lyrics are superb, I keep coming back to it for those melodies, and its one of the few records I can't seem to leave midway through. It has to be played all the way through every time!
