Tried "Inception" last night, gave up after an hour as I didn't care enough about any of the characters to give it another 90 minutes!

^That movie was way over-hyped.

Drive - Pretty solid movie. Great acting, awesome soundtrack and Ryan Gosling is :naughty:

Shaun of the Dead - an all time fave of mine. But I needed my brother to see it, as he kept saying it was 'lame' - even though he had never seen it. Right. Great way to base an opinion. He cracked up throughout. Dumbass. (loved proving him wrong.)

Another Earth - Beautiful and thought provoking, although scientifically impossible. The movie completely drew me in and the ending was a great shock. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Beginners - It made me smile. Great performances throughout.

Puss in Boots - Surprisingly not bad! Then again, as a cat lover, I am a bit biased. lol

Labyrinth - I hadn't watched this movie since I was like, 7? 8? Decided to give it a another go. Basically, I couldn't take my eyes off of David Bowie's crotch.

A Dangerous Method - For a movie that runs 1hr and 30 mins, watching it sure felt like it would never end. My god. What an incredibly dull movie. Keira's acting was ridiculous and all around just blah.

Saw Take Shelter the other day. It seriously has been the year of Jessica Chastain, she is in EVERYTHING. But she's awesome, so I'm not complaining.

And hot.

I sooo want to see "Take Shelter", but it's not playing anywhere near me. Same goes for "Martha Marcy May Marlene" - But you go to a movie theater right now, and they are playing Breaking Hymen 234324234 times a day! God damn it! :curse:

A few films over the holiday break:

Martha Marcy May Marlene - Gripping and engrossing film. Great acting by Elizabeth Olsen.

The Muppets - Very cute and quite funny. I'm not a huge fan of musical numbers and some could have been left out but it's only a little complain. Yeah, I maybe, possibly cried a little during Kermit's performance of "Rainbow Connection". Ah, sweet nostalgia.

My Idiot Brother - Only for Rashida Jones. The movie was ok, nothing special.

50/50 - Funny and moving. Cancer hits close to home for me as I've lost quite a few family members because of it. JGL is such an impressive actor. Never woulda thought that the little guy with the long hair from 3rd Rock From the the Sun would turn out this way, I must admit!

J. Edgar Hoover - Fell flat for me.

Friends with Kids - It had it's moments, but overall a predictable rom-com.

War Horse - Couldn't help but think of "Let England Shake" as I watched it. Decent, feel good movie. I'm a sucker for movies about animals.

The Artist - Go watch it. Every last one of you.
I could not stop smiling throughout. It's so charming, touching, funny, sad. Everything a movie should be to make it such an enjoyable watching experience. I can't wait to see it again. :)

(Also, I find it a bit funny that some people got upset when they discovered this was a 'silent' film. I mean, c'mon! )
