Been doing a lot of movie watching as of late:
-finished watching the movie Man Bites Dog yesterday, about a film crew that follows a serial killer on his rounds
-today I watched Born Into Brothels, doc about children in the red light district in Calcutta; the filmmaker gives the children cameras so we can see their world through their eyes.
-The Strangers-- SUCKED. There was one part where I jumped and screamed, I admit, but that was followed with about 10 minutes of laughter.
-At this very moment I'm watching Saving Private Ryan

I have mixed feelings. I didn't like how they kept going back and forth with the story. It seemed choppy. Also the very obvious wigs(I blame Tori Amos for this! *its a joke T fans :P).

Kate Winslet seemed so "Kate Winslet by numbers" in this one. Great performances by Judy Dench and Jim Broadbent(couldn't help but think of him as Professor Slughorn though) :green: The ending seemed so rushed too. I didn't like the pace at all.

i'm not that patient, i think that i will download it first :P but i hate polish cinemas for that, we always have to wait for good films.

i've just watched Goya's Ghosts. i usually don't like costume films because they are all the same and seem unnatural to me, but this one was very good. i really liked the sense of humor and the climate of the movie. and beside all that the movie has some interesting plot and great actors.

Wow, it's absolutely amazing, touching and infuriating all at the same time. I highly recommend it.

HP is commercial so delay was only one week (although i didn't see it yet because nobody wants to go to see it with me and i have to wait for friend to come from holiday :P).
you know, it's not that poland is so backward but they think that people don't want to watch ambitious movies so the good ones are often screened much later because they think nobody cares for it.

so independent movies take a very very long time to get there? the closest independent theater to me is 45 minutes away, a short travel for a movie that will actually make me think. anyone hear of in the loop? it's a brit movie and it looks hil-ar-ious.

just got back from district 9. wow. i completely agree with pitifuljoy about this x1000.

we have some independent theaters too but recently some of them are intercepted by some big companies and transformed into commercial cinemas or simply bankrupt :( i checked "in the loop" and this movie for example doesn't have premiere here at all :eyeroll:
