Let me guess (only based on your "a woooo woo wooooo" :lia: because I am too lazy to check it out at youtube or something else): this song was used by RHCP in chorus for their own song (I am sure that rap verse is their made)?
Didn't you really know Simply Red? Check out songs Stars and Something Got Me Started for instance.

i didn't know RHCP did a cover of it; i don't listen to them. but when i saw you post your song i had to go listen to the ohio players. the opening guitar is so awesome. i didn't know how to properly type out that sound; could be woo or ooo lol my friends and i actually like to blast that song in the car every once in a while

i know i've heard those lyrics before, is it a cover? cause i think i heard another version. i'm not recalling a pop ballad but i know that melody is familiar for some reason.
