Don’t remember where I read it, but it seemed at first like this was another album where Flood & Parish shared production credits with Polly herself. But so far, all subsequent material names only Parish and Flood as co producers, not Polly. I expect the liner notes will clear it up. It would be ...

I like Stone a lot, but I can agree it's not very special. The Phone Song, however, I find particularly moving. "That's a change, changes can happen" and "That's your heart, it can be open" - I think they're great, great lines.

This is a very well-written piece! I do wish to object to his claim that The Phone Song and Stone rank among Polly's "most plodding and heavy-handed compositions". Not cool.

I also loved the demos. I think Hanging in the Wire is absolutely brilliant. And Written on the Forehead's sound, which to me always stood out as kind of unusual in the official album version, seems to gel much better with the demos.
