I've listened to the album about 6 times through from top to bottom- it's a solid piece of work. It's really difficult to compare to another Polly album since they are all so different, but it truly is like the counterpart/sequel to LES. That said, I hope she changes directions for the next album ...

Oh and "River Anacostia" is a little bizarre in studio form. The 'wade in the water' bits are nice, but they seem totally atonal next to the rest of the song.

"A Line In The Sand" is really quite incredible. "Dollar Dollar" is a gorgeous track. I think "Medicinals" is still one of the best. All around, a solid piece of work. I actually am surprised that after loving the live version of "Ministry of Social Affairs", I think that's my least favorite!

Literally as soon as the song ended, my local record shop called to say the album was in! I will pick it up in a few hours. So excited.

What an interesting song! I wasn't exactly sure what I was expecting with this tune based on that awesome initial preview clip- but this was intensely satisfying! Such a unique rhythm happening.
