Re: England chords (help!)

It's 7th capo.

Dm, Em, C, Em, F
I live and die through England

F, Em G
Through England, it leaves a sadness...

Repeat...

Then the climax is G, B, C, B

Re: Top 3 PJ Albums

Strictly speaking about the music, I think I would have to choose Let England Shake, White Chalk, and Uh Huh Her. A Woman a Man Walked By would be a close fourth. For me, I guess PJ has been on fire for a good amount of time now.

If talking about favorite "eras," however, I think I would vote ...

Re: lyrics to Polly's latest new songs

An attempt at Bitter Branches. Go ahead and correct any of my inevitable mistakes.

"Bitter Branches"

Bitter branches
spreading out.
There’s none more bitter

twisting under
soldier’s feet,
standing in line
and the damp earth underneath.

Holding up ...

Re: lyrics to Polly's latest new songs

I think the answer to "How is our glorious country sewn?" is "Not with WHEAT and corn."

Also, the ending answers sound like:

"The fruit is inborn children,
The fruit is inborn children,
The fruit is orphan children,
The fruit is inborn children."

Re: request for the lyrics of "Written on the Forehead"

The lyrics are on the website now, and they read:

Written on the Forehead

People throwing dinars
at the belly-dancers,
in a sad circus
beside a trench of burning oil.

People throw belongings,
a life-time's earnings,
amongst the scattered rubbish

Date palms, orange ...

Re: Polly live at BBC tomorrow!

Thank you for the lyrics! Although I keep hearing the ending as:

Some DOVE in the river and tried to swim away,
Through TONGUES of sewage; FATE WRITTEN ON THEIR FOREHEADS.

I somehow only recently stumbled across this thread, but--from the code--I would have guessed that this somehow involved Animal Collective.
