Let England Shake entered at #8 on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 22,468. This was an improvement of over 8,000 sales on the debut of Harvey's previous solo album, 2007's White Chalk, and made Let England Shake Harvey's ...

Oh, how I wish this had been the album cover!!!!

I'm still depressed that it's the first PJ record w/o her face.

Heavily atmospheric songs like "The River" (ever listen to on quality headphones? Or vinyl? Whoa) don't always translate well live.

The keyboard there in the live version you uploaded seems sort of Halloween organ/music, lol. But I still love it!

Still I can understand why she put this in the LES ...

Changes daily.

But today: Rub 'Til It Bleeds !

Ahhhhhh...eeeee..... and you believe me!!!

For me personally, I can see how "Stories" is really appealing and friendly and easy-listening?

But I never felt connected to it. It almost FELT like she was just showing she could do that. Which is fine because obviously she could and she did it well. But it didn't really feel like a LEGITIMATE PJ ...

Let England Shake is probably my 2nd favorite now!!!!



I can't stop listening to it and singing it everywhere I go.

I was in the grocery the other day singing "England's dancing days are done..." to myself.

And hearts that threaten to pop their boxes...

I remember some long ago TV interview she did for MTV during the time "Is That All There Is?" and Dance Hall were out and she mentioned considering moving out of her parents house.

I never really liked storyline videos as I thought it detracted from the song. Or were too over the top - see Bush's "Greedy Fly", haha.

No one will ever top "Man-Size" IMO. Not even PJ apparently!

It's (Let England Shake) probably one of my top 3 PJ albums. I'm listening to it endlessly and finding something new to love every time.
