Re: The Hope Six Demolition Project new album info
I actually loved it, which is quite surprising considering I felt close to nothing when I listened to the first few tracks separately. I guess it made sense as a whole to me. Don't mind the quality of the lyrics at all, though, and I think she could have worked on them a little bit more, but that's ...

Shaker Aamer
So I was a little bored and I started toying with my guitar trying to get Shaker Aamer's chords as right as possible. Here's what I figured out (it may be totally wrong, however, lol)
Shaker Aamer

Re: Just a little help.
Horses in my dreams was played with a different tune, I think. It's either the D-drop in the sixth chord that she used in 50ft Queenie and songs with patterns alike (I think I'm a mother and such, you get what I mean) or a slightly different tuning (Is the tuning in "The life and death of..." the ...

Re: The Big Guns Called Me Back Again Chords needed
I just saw this thread and I'm trying to figure this song out. Hope it helps but some of the chords may be wrong. I started by following drownsoda's steps ;)
Am C/G Dm Am
Shadows lengthening
Dm C/G Am
Ninety five steps I'm taking
Am C/G Dm Am
With every step I'm longing
Dm C/G Am

Re: The Devil
I play it like this (though it may not match the real chords and I tend to use a capo to get my voice adapted)
Intro:
Dm Am G F
Dm Am G F
Dm Am C F
As soon as I'm left alone
Em F C G
The devil wanders into my soul
Em F C G
And I pretend to myself
Em F C F

Re: The correct chords for Sheela na GIg
She uses a capo in the first fret, so it would be
E G (or F G# for that matter)
then the bridge (put money on...) goes something like A F# A F# A-B (or A# G A# G A# C)
You may want to check a live performance of this song during the White Chalk tour (I think she played it just once or twice ...

Re: England chords (help!)
It sounds right, but she doesn't really hit a "B" in the last part, according to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbReim77Yfw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think it's a B7. It also sounds right if you strum all the strings

Re: Questions for Polly
I actually like that song a lot. It's really fun to play.
On the other hand, I think Polly's always got that weird sense of humor. Pretty dark, indeed (not as extreme as I am, though). She's never taken herself THAT serious (at least in the early stages of her career. You can see that in the "50ft ...

Re: England chords (help!)
As far as I know she plays most of the LES guitar songs (except "LES" and "Bitter Branches") with a capo.
She might use a capo in the 5th fret for "England", which would allow an "Em" start.

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far
Rolling Stones's been slowly turning into some kind of fashion magazine during these past years. Too commercial I think. It used to deal with many kinds of styles not long ago but, at least in the Spanish edition, there's been a turning point (to worse) this last decade. Too many pages about fashion ...

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far
i agree, Bitter Branches are amazing, not the best on the album but clearly not the worst. i don't know why everybody put it on the bottom of their lists. England is pure awesomeness along with All And Everyone. and i think if anything should be replaced with Big Guns, it should be Written On The ...

Re: Worst PJ Album?
No prob ;)
I don't really adore the other songs of the album. I love the live solo version of "Big Exit" and somehow I like "Kamikaze" too. Out of the rest, I kind of enjoy them all (after all I'm a PJ fan, lol) except "You said something", whose kind of midi organ start I just cannot stand ;)
