Re: John Parish at Glastonbury this year

She was on my list to see but didn't wake up in time! Didn't realise she had them with her, glad someone caught a little of it anyway, guess the BBC were still asleep too

Re: Guess who Jack White's drummer is

Carla Azar's an awesome drummer live. Didn't she drum on the AWAMWB recording, remember being disappointed not seeing her on the tour.

Re: LES tour over?

..... U2 = huge stadiums = profits

I've read in at least a couple of places that tours are what pay the bills these days. Albums, CDs, iTunes: it's lucky to break even,

Don't forget U2 = huge ego too
There's been a complete proliferation of concerts/festivals in UK/Europe certainly to back up ...

Re: 2:54

That venue was a veritable Tardis of a (transport) boat, twice the size inside than what it looked like from the outside!

Yeah, lucky to get Chelsea Wolfe too, a double headliner really. She only played Bristol and Brighton apparently. I put both sets on Dime now anyway if they're of interest.

Re: Where the President quotes Jello Biafra and PJ Harvey

Agree, sounds much more genuine, hope she plays there sometime.

Honour and recognition aside, I'm still trying to decide which of Polly + Gordon Brown vs. Polly + David Cameron made the more difficult viewing.

Re: Mark E Smith interview (one for Seagull)

Hey Brits, explain the subtle usage of shite vs shit to me:

"That book," says Smith, was shite."

"It's been gentrified. It's shit now."

Shite is one of those British colloquialisms, both can be used interchangeably. The French have a habit of adding an e to the end of a word to make it ...

Re: What are you listening to...?

Samples from the upcoming Jeffrey Lee Pierce (The Gun Club) tribute album 'The Journey Is Long'.

Very interesting artists involved in the project: Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Warren Ellis, Mark Lanegan, Debbie Harry, Lydia Lunch, The Jim Jones Revue etc.

There's no less than two different duet ...

Would love to see St. Vincent

2:54 / Chelsea Wolfe, Blood Red Shoes @ Bristol
ATP IBYM London - Mogwai, Slayer, Melvins, Afghan Whigs etc

All my favourites were so out in force touring last year, this one's looking a bit barren :tear:

"And the nominations for the best female British Artiste are: "

Adele *Loud Cheer*
Florence & The Machine *Loud Cheer*
Jessie J *Loud Cheer*
Kate Bush *Tumbleweed*
Laura Marling *Tumbleweed*

Still, at least Laura won it last year. I presume the judges must have been running a fever on that ...

Re: The "What Are You Thinking?" Thread

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I find it so bizarre when a band from my area gets "big" cause I'm like, really? This lil ol' place? Black Keys and Cloud Nothings are from my neck of the woods, very strange, but good for them.

(only prompted cause I saw Cloud Nothings on ...
