Re: PJ Harvey has a general disregard for today’s popular mu

I feel very much the same. Most albums I am still listening to are from the before the end-90s. I guess there are less than 10 albums from the last 10 years that I still like listening to regularly and from 2005 I more or less stopped buying new music at all except for two or three albums in a year ...

Re: Some sort of PETA scandal

I read a few months go that PETA end up putting down about 90% of the animals they "save", as they don't have the money to look after them. They spend all that on making their name heard.

Yes, they spend all their money on making TV spots with Pamela Anderson and other pointless things.

Re: New Single The Glorious Land To Be Released April 18th

Thank you for the news! I guess "The Glorious Land" is an obvious choice for a single. Great to hear that "The Nightingale" will have a proper release, too, since I'm not really into lossy iTunes downloads.

Re: Some sort of PETA scandal

This is really sad. I always feel ashamed when I read something like this. Animal rights is something that I find quite important, too and in fact I try to avoid buying/using animal products, too (I am like 90% vegan). However, animal rights activists like the people from PETA or hardcore vegans or ...

Not available in my country, can't watch it :(. But generally I agree that X-Factor is one of the better casting shows. Well, I mean "better" in the way of the lesser of all the evils.

Where did you get that number from? According to other sources it has fallen from number 20 (first week) to number 44 (second week) in the album charts.

Re: Is vinyl the new black?

I prefer Vinyl, too. If available, I buy the Vinyl, then record it to my computer as a 24Bit/96kHz lossless FLAC for convenience (making playlists, etc.).

However, I don't make a religion out of it. Although I do like the slightly "softer" sound of Vinyl, as opposed to the more "strident" sound of ...

Re: Support your local Music Shops!!!

I'd love to buy music in a record shop, but I am living in a rural area and there aren't really any options. There are small sections in electronics stores, but they only offer popular albums and no Vinyls or singles. And the shopping atmosphere isn't really great either. Therefore, although I ...

Me, too. When this section of the song begins I always wish it would go on forever. It's such a powerful image.

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far

"Let England Shake" entered on position no. 20 in the German album charts. Not too bad, I would say . I'm actually positively surprised about this position, as the online and download sales haven't been that high so far. I guess this is the kind of music that people rather buy in record stores in ...

Re: Tour set list?

Has anyone been on the Berlin concert and remembers the setlist? I am really curious about it and would like to know whether I have missed my favourite songs because I had to go to Brussels instead of Berlin because of time issues ;).

What's that "Let England Shake (Plus Videos)" in the french chart??

It's the album plus "Nightingale" bonus track plus "The Last Living Rose" and "The Words That Maketh Murder" videos.

Really great to see those high positions on iTunes everywhere. I wish it would sell better here . I should ...

Re: Top 3 PJ Albums

I generally find it quite hard to pick favourites, as I mostly like different albums in different ways and don't really compare them that much. Since I am rather new to PJ Harvey's music, there is still much left to further explore.

But so far the three albums I relate to the most emotionally are ...

Re: Polly's New Album: What We Know So Far

In Germany (where the albums was released on 11 Feb) the sales figures aren't that enormous so far. The CD is in the Amazon sales top 100 for 13 days now, at position 85 at the moment. The Vinyl is doing quite well, being in the top 10 Vinyl sales.

In the iTunes charts it started at about 20-30 and ...
